If Chelsea have one hand on the Premier League trophy, the crazy Championship promotion race is far from being over with eight teams still in with a chance of securing their place in the English top flight next season.

With only two games left in this incredible season, four teams have still hope for automatic promotion.

Fantasy football game Oulala.com has taken a closer look at some interesting stats.Watford lead the way but only hold a slender one point gap over second Bournemouth and third Middlesbrough.

The Hornets have taken the top spot only for the third time this season. Eddie Howe’s side have been the most frequent league leaders, and are also enjoying the biggest goal difference of +47. Aitor Karanka, on the other hand, has clearly more defensive philosophy.

On average, Boro are the only team that have scored more than two goals per match, followed by Watford and the Canaries.

Interestingly enough, the current leaders have received the lowest number of yellow cards among the quartet, but are far away from being the cleanest side, since their players have been sent of 7 times in 44 appearances.

The race for promotion looks set to go down to the wire right until the final weekend of the Championship season.
