Legendary Barcelona player Xavi will leave his club after the end of this season. 35-year-old has spent all his career at Barça, having joined the club in July 1991, when he was 11 years old.

Opta-powered fantasy football game Oulala.com has taken a closer look at the Spaniard who made his first appearance in the Spanish Championship on August 18, 1998 under Louis Van Gaal.

One of the greatest central midfielders of all time grow into his role as the successor to then-Barca captain Pep Guardiola.

He has made 751 official appearances in 16 seasons, having scored 84 goals.

The current blaugrana captain has won more trophies than any other Spanish player in history, including seven league titles and three Champions League trophies.

With his star fading, this season hasn’t been his best so far. He has started 14 of Barcelona’s 26 La Liga matches, enjoying less playing time than in the previous campaign. Last season he spend 75 minutes on the field, compared to this season’s average of 50 minutes.

After the departure of Carles Puyol last year, Barcelona will face the loss of another club’s talisman.

  1. Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this blog.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and visual appearance.
I must say you have done a very good job with this. Also, the blog loads super fast for me on Firefox.

    Outstanding Blog!
